The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Retro is a collaboration between Jordan Brand and Brooklyn-based street artist KAWS (aka Brian Donnelly). The design does away with traditional plastic accessories and dresses the entire upper and midsole in premium grey suede. The sneaker also features KAWS' "XX" branding on the heel tab. The shoes were released in March 2017 alongside a small capsule collection that included a trainer jacket, hoodie, t-shirt and hat. The hype for the release was so intense that an in-store raffle at Patta in London was read the riot act by police, while sneakerheads hacked Donnelly's website for a chance at the release.
